Dogs and cats rule for Kelly MarCom and CARA
Local marketing communications firm Kelly MarCom is going to the dogs, and actually also to the cats. The firm is launching a drive to collect Purina® brand dog and cat food to donate to Carolina Animal Rescue and Adoption (CARA). The effort, appropriately called, “Donate a Doggie Bag,” will run from Friday, June 25 through Friday, July 2.
Kelly MarCom kicks off the campaign on national “Take Your Dog to Work Day,” which was established in 1999 to celebrate the great companions dogs make and to encourage their adoption from humane societies, animal shelters and breed rescue clubs. Furry canine friends will join employees at Kelly MarCom tomorrow as is the tradition at the firm, and the public is encouraged to bring pet food contributions to Kelly MarCom through the week for delivery to CARA.
“Animals bring a great deal of joy to our lives and we appreciate CARA’s efforts to provide safe homes for homeless animals in Lee County,” said Mariryan Starr, vice president at Kelly MarCom, who shares her life with two boxers and a cat, along with her husband and daughters. “We encourage other businesses and organizations to take part by bringing any amount of pet food donations to support the wonderful resource our community has in CARA.”
“We are very appreciative of the support this community continues to show us year after year,” said Abbey Lindauer, administrator for CARA. “This is a fun, creative way for the public to help us with a basic need; feeding all the puppies, kittens, dogs and cats as they await new homes.”
Purina brand pet food donations (the preferred brand since switching may upset the animals’ stomachs) may be dropped off at Kelly MarCom located at 131 Charlotte Ave. in downtown Sanford between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. from June 26 through July 2. Kelly MarCom will then deliver the contributions to CARA the week of July 5.
